Yusupov Palace
The mansion of one of the richest families in Russia. The palace built in the 18th century is one of the most beautiful classicism monuments in Saint Petersburg. In addition to keeping its original interiors such as the Arabian hall, family theater, ballrooms and banquets, this palace kept many secrets. In this palace on the night of December 16, 1916 Grigori Rasputin was assassinated.
Siberian peasant, possessing extrasensory qualities, was the only one who could help the heir to the throne, who was suffering from hemophilia.
Unhappy with Rasputin's influence on the tsar, a group of monaarchists with the son of the owners of the palace, Felix Yusupov, decided to resort to an extreme measure: murder.
In the basement of the palace there is an exhibition dedicated to Grigori Rasputin and the story of his murder. During the excursion you can visit the gala rooms, private rooms and the basement where Grigori Rasputin was murdered.
